SUNNY DAY COME FLY AWAY, owned by Tommy and Sasha Cederlund, is a Denver based company that prides itself with providing safe and fun flights for its passengers. With an average of 300 days of sunshine each year, Colorado is an excellent location for balloon rides. The Rocky Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop for your hot air balloon ride and will give you the opportunity for unique photographs to share with family and friends.

Our 30 years of experience across four continents has not only enhanced our expertise in flying, it offers tales of great adventures Tommy loves to share.

Tommy was born in Visby, Sweden and took his first balloon flight in 1972. He became a commercial pilot in 1974. In competition flying, Tommy has participated in four World Championships and three European championships. He became Swedish Champion in 1982, won the Grubbstrom Trophy in 1984, received the FAI Bronze Medal in 1986, and the Royal Swedish Aero Club Silver Medal in 1987. He has flown in 28 countries and 28 states, from Masai Mara, Kenya to Battle Creek, Michigan.

He started flying passengers in 1981 and over the years has safely flown 15,000 passengers while gathering considerable experience with balloons of all shapes and sizes.

Sasha usually stays grounded with scheduling passengers, hotel pick-up for passengers, special events, and corporate contracts. As a minister, she does have the opportunity to fly while officiating at wedding ceremonies.

Our crew, lead by Crew Chief Bill Hein, not only prepares the balloon for inflation, follows the balloon in flight, and puts the balloon away after the flight, they attend to the passengers to make sure the flight is safe and fun for everyone. Bill's knowledge of flying, weather and ballooning equipment comes from being a student pilot, working towards his private and eventually commercial license.
